Many thanks to the following family members who have done their own genealogy research. Their data has been quite helpful to me:
  • Carol J. Sconzert-Simonar (b.1935) put together a book titled "Le Grave Family." This book contains over 400 pages of family group sheets. It'll take me forever to get all that data on this web site.

  • Connie Nelson-Bachman (b.1940) is my 10th cousin. She wrote a very informative article in 1991 titled "Minnesota Pioneers". This article, published in the Spring 1991 edition of The Descendants, tells the story of Adolphe Crevier and Mathilda Baudreau dit Graveline. Adolphe and Mathilda were born and married in Quebec, and emigrated to the Winsted, Minnesota area in 1858. Connie has given me permission to publish that article here. You can read it or download it from my Free Downloads page.

  • Emerence LeGrave-Crevier (b.1918) is my paternal grandmother. Around 1986, she gathered a wealth of information and photos dating back two centuries.

  • Joseph J. Pierre (b.1911) is married to Odile Le Grave (b.1912), my first cousin twice removed. Joseph did a tremendous amount of work in 1976, to write a book called "Historical and Genealogical Information on our Belgian Ancestors". This book is a genealogist's dream come true! It contains personal accounts from his family and friends, including first hand information from some friends in Belgium. When I spoke to Joseph (87 yrs old), he was so kind and gave me permission to put a copy of his book on the internet. You can read it or download it from my Free Downloads page.

  • Mary Creviere-Turner (b.1956) was my first contact from the Creviere family (with the extra 'e' on the end of her name). She has been quite helpful in providing information about the Creviere family. Some day, we hope to prove that we are related.

  • Robert C. Olson (b.1956) is my mother's youngest brother (and is also one of my best friends). He has been gathering geneaology data for a couple of years now, and he allowed me to import a bunch of data from his GEDCOM file to help fill out the maternal branch of my family tree. We have a lot of fun sharing our addiction.

  • I've saved the best for last: Rolland Descheneaux of Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada is my 8th cousin twice removed (Christophe Crevier is Rolland's 7th great grandfather, while Christophe is my 9th great grandfather). I can't tell you enough about how Rolland has helped in my genealogy research! He started by providing me with 4 generations of information from church records that traces my Crevier name back to France in the 1600s. Since I started researching my family history, this lineage had been the most elusive. He continues to gather a great deal of information, and more importantly, he is quite anxious to share it with me to help me link up my heritage with that of others from the United States and Canada. Some of his contributions have even been made via a very large envelope mailed from Quebec to me (in Wisconsin).

What's unique about Rolland, is that he has the means and the motive to acquire key information. He lives in Quebec, and he has the desire (and sometimes the time) to comb through thousands of church records on microfilm. I am quite grateful for Rolland's generosity and the time that he has spent sharing his information with me.
