Robert Crevier (1500s) |
Robert is my 12th great grandfather (on my Mother's side). He was a baker in Rouen, France in the 1500s and probably died before 1583. He married Jeanne Dauphin, with whom he had at least two children. Robert is the oldest ancestor that I've been able to trace on my mother's side. |
|
Etienne Crevier (1600s) |
Etienne is my 8th great grandfather (on my Father's side). He was born in France around 1600. He married Marie Roy in 1617 at St-Germain-du-Bel-Air, France. Etienne's generation is reached when tracing my Father's lineage straight back to his father, and his father, and so on. Etienne is the oldest ancestor that I've been able to trace on my father's side. |

| NOTE: |
The above two Creviers represent two distinct lines of heritage.
If you are a Crevier, you are most likely a descendant of one of the above two gentlemen (at least that has
been the case for every Crevier that I have "met" since setting up this web site).
Of course, I am quite proud to say that I am a descendant of both. My goal is to someday show that
Robert and Etienne are related to each other.

Christophe Crevier (1611-1662) |
Christophe is my 9th great grandfather (on my Mother's side). Christophe was born in 1611 at Rouen, Normandie, France. He is the great grandson of Robert Crevier, mentioned above. He was the first Crevier to emigrate from France to Trois Rivieres, Quebec, in 1639. He worked as a baker in France and in Quebec. He died in Quebec on Dec 1, 1662. In the book "Our French-Canadian Ancestors", Volume 7, Thomas J. LeForest has written a very nice 8-page biography about Christophe. |
|
Joseph Crevier (1818-1909) |
Joseph is my 6th cousin 4 times removed. He was born on Jan 5, 1818 at Trois Rivieres, Quebec. He is the 5th great grandson of Christophe Crevier. Joseph is notable because he was the first Crevier to emigrate to South Dakota, where he died on Dec 11, 1909. Many of his decendents now live in Iowa and California, in addition to South Dakota. |
|
Joseph Henri Crevier (1866-1931) |
Joseph is my 7th cousin 3 times removed. He was born and baptised on May 20, 1866 at St-Francois-du-Lac, Quebec. He is the 6th great grandson of Christophe Crevier. He was the first Crevier to emigrate to Rhode Island (1880). He died on Apr 15, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island. Many of his decendents now live in New Hampshire. |

Paul J. Creviere, Jr. (1953- ) |
I have yet to figure out how/if I am related to the Crevieres (with the 'e' on the end). I met Paul Creviere in January 1999 by chance at the genealogy department of the Brown County Library, in Green Bay, WI.
Paul J. Creviere, Jr. is a third generation publisher at his family's newspaper, the De Pere Journal. When he was 23 he overcame a lifelong fear of water and learned to swim. That lead to a new obsession, SCUBA diving. Mr. Creviere's love of wreck diving, his interest in history and his familiarity with the newspaper business paved the way for "Wild Gales and Tattered Sails", a book that chronicles the tales of 416 sunken ships of Northwestern Lake Michigan and the bay of Green Bay. He is now a Master SCUBA diver with over 1,000 dives logged.

Tanya Crevier (1954- ) |
Tanya is my 10th cousin. She is the 9th great granddaughter of Christophe Crevier. Tanya hails from Elkton, South Dakota, and I'm told that she is the "World's Best Female Basketball Handler." |
|
Steve Crevier (1965- ) |
I don't yet know how I am related to Steve. Steve was born in Montreal, Quebec and now lives in British Columbia.
Steve rides on Suzuki's racing team. Here are a couple of links about him:
